Festival Recap

Celebrating Mavericks and our community is what it’s all about. The inaugural Mavericks Festival was a huge success with 8,000 - 10,000 attendees estimated throughout the day. The free Festival kicked off the opening of the Mavericks Awards season. Attendees enjoyed music from Santa Cruz-based, The Expendables, Half Moon Bay-based Coast Tribe and Jaleh. People engaged with Mavericks surfers, including: Peter Mel, Luca Padua, Bianca Valenti, Alo Slebir, Jamie Mitchell, Jojo Roper and Dayton Lindsey while enjoying local food and drinks. The Surf Zone featured big wave gun displays by Bob Pearson, Jeff Clark, and Channel Islands. The Mavericks Rescue team was on site with safety gear and a jet ski on display.
